There was an abundance of sweetness and frosting in Los Angeles, this Thursday, when Jennie Garth and SoulMate diamonds hosted a special celebrity get-together at the ultra hip maternity store Naissance on Melrose. You can take a look at some of the pictures of the party, courtesy of FilmMagic here. The party was a celebration of motherhood, treating both new moms and those with multiple decorator-covered carseats in the Range Rover, to a selection of goodies just in time for Mother's Day. NOM, well known worldwide for outfitting pregnant celebrities, was open for shopping during the event and 20% of their sales (plus $50 for each SoulMate diamond set sold) were donated to the Children's Defense Fund.
Jennie Garth told me that she was just thrilled that NOM owner Jennifer Noonan provided the space for the stylish event. She mentioned that she shopped there with her previous pregnancies and was so happy to have Soulmate joining her to raise both funds and awareness for kids in need. The Children's Defense fund strives to ensure every child a Healthy start, a Head Start, a Fair Start, a Safe Start and a Moral Start in life and a successful passage to adulthood with the help of caring families and communities. Many other actresses have recently done work for this cause, including Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Garner, Cicely Tyson, Regina King, and Deborah Santana, who flew to New Orleans to help children in flood ravished communities.
Jennie also noted the timeliness of Mother's Day and the fitting message of SoulMates unique pendants. The paired sets are made from two special diamonds cut from one single stone, documented and registered so that they will remain forever attached to each other. They are the perfect way to celebrate the eternal love between a mother and a child. These necklaces are already gracing the necks of Hollywood's hottest celebs and their loved ones, including Madonna and Lourdes, Reese Witherspoon and Ava, Joely Fisher and Skyler, Jamie Lynn Sigler and her mom, and of course Jennie and her two daughters who were there to enjoy the festivities.
Luca Bella was looking pretty in a bohemian embroidered peasant top and skirt. She had much fun decorating cupcakes with piles of candy and gummy worms, while little sister Lola Ray, danced around the store in an adorable blingy "Drama Queen" tee. There was a DJ spinning tunes that set the mood, and the adults were grooving as they perused the gorgeous maternity wear and baby goodies. It was beautiful enough to make me want to get knocked up again just so I could justify the shopping. Attendees grazed on gorgeous little sandwiches and fruit kabobs and stayed quenched with Fiji water. There was even an organic baby food buffet courtesy of Bohemian Baby.
Meanwhile, several kids lined up outside to get their faces painted and enjoyed making tees for their dogs. As far as I know, no dogs received SoulMate diamond pendants at this event. Too bad for the pooches. But at least they got some adorable blingy tees from A Wish. The company donates a portion of their proceeds from the sale of their doggie tees to animal rescue. That's good news for man's best friend!
Cheryl Hines picked up a heart pendant from the SoulMate collection for herself and her daughter, and selected "My Mom Rocks" and " I (heart) my Mommy" tees by A Wish for 2 year old daughter Catherine. She plans to put them on her daughter this weekend for Mother's Day. She also mentioned how fortunate she is to have such a sweet and easy kid, and joked "One good one is all you need!".
Also in attendance were Holly Marie Combs and son Finley, Ming Na, Anne Getty and daughter India, Melissa Joan Hart, with her mom Paula and son Mason,Kylie Bax and daughter Lito, and a gorgeously glowing pregnant Emily Rutherford. Emily looked very glam and happy, noting that life has been really great for her lately, and that this is just such a special time. SoulMate diamonds outfitted her with an interlocking puzzle piece pendant for herself and baby. It was fitting as she is waiting till the birth of her child to find out what she is having. Several guests had her pegged for a boy-baby but we'll all have to wait a few more weeks to solve that puzzle.
Of course it wouldn't be a Hollywood party without fab swag, would it? In addition to the SoulMate pendants, celebs mommies in attendance received lavish gifts including strollers and carseats from Peg Perego, Breast pumps from Medela, Petunia Pickle Bottom Bags, an Ergo Baby Carrier, a Baby Bella Maya carrier cover, a "blessing kit" from Two Plums Blessings, and Ebba Soy candles. And all of the guests were treated with goody bags, put together by Grand Avenue Baby. The bags contained prenatal yoga DVD's, Tummy Honey Belly Butter, Bread n Budder buckets, Simply Tiffany Taite Silver spoons, *pretty *little* cards* notecards, Varnish nail products, DiaperMate diaper disposal bags, Luna Bars, Fiji Water and coupons for everything from a Bellyband/Sweetness Pouch from Sweetness Products to glossing treatments from Steam Salon, to invitations and party supplies from Circle The Date.
